Has spring really sprung?

So we’ve had a nice day or two….. and the days are getting longer. Everyone I know is feeling the excitement and wanting more light and good weather 🙂

Since I love spring, and Easter (a nice time to mark the end of winter), I decided to make an arrangement for the entrance table.

I went to the hardware store and bought the smallest most inexpensive ferns and daffodils I could find and then started taking out odds and ends from around the house: a bunny, basket and welcome sign bought at a second hand store years ago, two paper mache eggs bought last year at IKEA and an old wooden box bought at a church sale.

At first, I played around with the baskets and plants and enjoyed a small arrangement.

I decided to go further however, to make a bigger arrangement that would make more of a statement (something like “I REALLY like spring”). I played with the arrangement for a while, placing the shallow wooden box down, filling it with my first basket then more plants and then the paper eggs. I played with the heights to make the arrangement more interesting visually, added the little French “welcome” sign and this is the completed version I came up with 🙂

It feels so fresh and spring like, I’ll just forget that it’s cold again today 🙂
